Workout log

A workout log your AI keeps for you. Describe the session after the gym and ChatGPT or Claude logs it in Amber Notes.

For anyone training a few times a week who wants to see progress.

Free. Paste the prompt into ChatGPT or Claude with Amber Notes connected: it creates the note, then fills it in. For Claude Code, use its tab below. No Amber Notes yet? Download it for Mac.

Tell your AI

First, look for a note called "Workout log" in my Amber Notes with search_notes. If there isn't one, create it with create_note in the folder "Health", using exactly the markdown at the end of this message, the <!-- pane-table --> line included (it gives the table's columns their types). Then: Use my Amber Notes note "Workout log". After a session I'll tell you what I did. Log one row with log_table_row: Workout as one of the options, the Main lift, the Top set like "100 kg x 5", Minutes, and Effort from 1 to 10. If I beat a number listed under "Personal bests", or there's none for that lift yet, add it there with append_to_note and today's date. When I ask how I'm doing, read the table with read_table and compare the last four weeks.

```markdown
<!-- pane-table: Date=date; Workout=choice Push|Pull|Legs|Run|Other; Main lift=text; Top set=text; Minutes=number; Effort=scale 1-10 -->
| Date | Workout | Main lift | Top set | Minutes | Effort |
Paste it into a chat in ChatGPT with Amber Notes turned on. That chat keeps it; paste it again when you start a new one.
Then just talk to it
  • Legs today: squat 100 kg for 5, then lunges. About 55 minutes, felt hard.
  • Am I getting stronger on bench?
  • What did I do last Wednesday?
What you'll get
The same note after a few days of talking to your AI. Tinted lines are what it added, the way Amber Notes shows an AI's changes, with Undo and the earlier version kept in the note's history.
